Celestia Pictures is a Mumbai-based film and OTT content studio founded by Ankkit Poddar, a producer and IIM Bangalore alumnus. Its debut slate spans drama, thriller and slice-of-life Hindi productions, alongside a regional music label partnership and a long-form theatrical feature in development.
Celestia engaged Umanshi for PR for production houses that would launch it as a credible content studio and establish Ankkit Poddar’s independent identity as a producer. The objective was to give both the studio and its founder a media presence that did not depend on any single project or platform announcement, built from a standing start inside one quarter.
Celestia Pictures had never issued a public communication. There was no brand recall, no established journalist relationships and no founder visibility to build on.
The usual entertainment PR hooks, a trailer, a casting reveal or a release date, were all unavailable. The slate was in production, not in market, so PR for production houses at this stage needed a different kind of news peg.
Without deliberate separation, Ankkit Poddar’s profile would have been absorbed into project announcements, leaving the studio dependent on its next title for every mention.
The announcement was built around six projects completed in the studio’s first month, with recognisable talent attached. This turned a launch statement into a track record, which is what entertainment desks actually publish.
Outreach combined a curated film-media list with national news and syndication desks, taking a studio launch into general news rather than confining it to film press.
Each placement was anchored to a separate angle: the studio vision, the producer’s lens, building a production house and the future of Hindi OTT. Repeated presence read as substance rather than repetition.
The announcement ran in July and editorial placements landed through September, keeping the studio in circulation for the full engagement instead of peaking once.
A Google search for Celestia Pictures now returns the studio’s own story on the first page
Ankkit Poddar now has a searchable profile as a producer in his own right
Search results tell one consistent story about the studio and its founder
A production house doesn’t need a release date to be newsworthy. Talk to us about PR for production houses that builds the studio and its founder from day one.
Build the story around what is already true. Strong PR for production houses at launch stage uses verifiable milestones, such as completed projects and talent attached, along with the founder’s point of view, instead of waiting for a trailer or release date.
Projects come and go, but the founder’s credibility carries across every title. A founder with an independent media presence gives the studio a voice between releases and makes each new announcement easier to place.
Film trade press reaches the industry, while national news and syndication reach investors, partners, talent and audiences. Combining both made Celestia’s launch a business story as well as an entertainment one.
It depends on how much coverage already exists. Celestia started from zero, and a sequenced quarter of national, trade and founder placements gave it page-one ownership of its brand search in under 90 days.
