i-Saksham is an education-focused NGO working in rural Bihar across Jamui and Munger. The organisation builds local edu-leaders to improve learning outcomes for children while strengthening community participation in education.
Following their newfound brand positioning, ‘Shiksha Se Saksham,’ an exercise undertaken by Umanshi Marketing, i-Saksham needed a website that could do more than inform. It had to help recruit fellows, explain impact to donors and partners and articulate a complex ecosystem in a simple, credible manner.
Donors underestimated the scale of the crisis.
Data such as 1 lakh primary schools operating with only one teacher and only 50% of Class 5 students able to read Class 2 textbooks needed to be made impossible to ignore.
The same site had to work for donors, fellows, parents and government bodies.
Each audience came with different motivations and expectations.
Earlier communication relied heavily on word-of-mouth.
The website had to actively support recruitment, credibility building and fund-raising.
The website structure followed the brand strategy.
We anchored content around the purpose “Shiksha Se Saksham”, clearly explaining why i-Saksham exists and how collective leadership drives impact.
Content was mapped to real motivators.
Student drivers like technology exposure, English, confidence and mid-day meals were woven into storytelling rather than buried in program descriptions.
Dedicated sections addressed fellows, donors, communities and partners with clear answers to what’s in it for me—emotionally and rationally.
Umanshi helped i-Saksham in pre-covid era with our website and other communication collaterals. The team demonstrated a deep understanding of our mission, ensuring every design element was purpose-focused and aligned with our goals. Their client-centric approach was commendable, maintaining open communication and seeking feedback to ensure our satisfaction.
The communication collateral helped us position i-Saksham’s work better with our stakeholders, in an easy to understand fashion. i-Saksham has expanded to 5 districts from 2 in last 4 years and part of the credit goes to Umanshi.
Team Umanshi excelled in timeliness, consistently meeting deadlines without compromising quality. We highly recommend Umanshi to anyone looking for expertise, professionalism, and dedication to excellence in communication.
We traveled to the interiors of Bihar (Munger & Jamui) to first-hand experience the work done at grassroot level by the NGO. We met the students, fellows, school principles, parents, panchayat to understand it takes a village to raise a child. We were shaken up by the systemic gaps in education and the harsh realities that the students lived in. It was then we brought this alive digitally through storytelling.
Expanded from 2 to 5 districts across Bihar
Accelerated reach among students through key motivators: tech, English language & mid-day meal
Tripled the base of fellows by prioritising female edu-leaders, improving retention and community acceptance
